Drawing upon decades of professional and entrepreneurial experience, the two speakers of the Global Leadership in Asia discussion will present perspectives they believe are key to global leadership. Topics covered will include business ethics, sustainability, social responsibility, and the unprecedented challenges that face tomorrow’s leaders.

    Owner, founder and president of Odani Research, LLC, a marketing research and consulting firm specializing in facilitating business between Japan and the United States. Founded in Mamaroneck, New York, in 1980, its clients include Toyota Motor Corp., Sony Corp., Hakuhodo, Inc., Dentsu, Inc., Toshiba, Matsushita, SBC, Revlon, and KPMG.   • John Jiang, Yale Alumnus
    President and CEO, Level Nine Group

    Jianxin Jiang is a business executive with fourteen years of experience in information technology and information risk management. Before establishing his own consulting firm in 2007, he was a director with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), advising large financial services clients in IT internal control and regulatory compliance. Jianxin Jiang joined PwC in 2003 as a senior manager in its Global Risk Management Solutions practice. During his tenure with PwC, he was instrumental in the formation of a national team, and acted as a co-leader focusing on assisting financial services clients in integrating controls enabled by technology into their business processes to mitigate risk. His areas of expertise include:

    • Internal Controls and Operational Risk Management
    • IT Risk Management Framework (CobiT), Structure, and Governance
    • Sarbanes Oxley, Basel II, and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) Compliance
    • Program Management

    Prior to PwC, Jianxin held various leadership positions with increasing responsibilities. He was the first Chief Security Officer at Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. Shortly after his appointment, he was given additional responsibility for IT operations. During his tenure with Guardian, he also oversaw the IT systems, applications, infrastructure, and operational integration between Guardian and Berkshire Life.

    Jianxin started his business career in 1993 with Xerox Professional Services, a division specializing in system integration, network engineering, and information security. He progressed quickly, becoming the youngest Practice Director in the Division with Profit & Loss responsibilities for the New York Metro region in 1995. He was promoted to a Principal for the Northeast region in 1998.

    Jianxin holds a B.S. from Nanjing University, China, and an M.S. from the University of Chicago. He matriculated as a Ph.D. candidate at Yale University.
