Globalization has transformed the peoples, cultures, economies, and governments of the world, and especially in Asia. The Effects of Globalization on Asia panel brings together three speakers who will present their views on the dynamic changes globalization has had and will continue to have on Asia’s cultures, societies, and environment.

  • Rich Kuslan HGS '83
    Editor, Asiabizblog

    Rich Kuslan writes about Asian business and law, with a special focus on China. His writing seeks to interpret 25 years of experience working with, buying from and selling to, as well as managing, Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese and American businesses. As a consultant, he has trained executives at major multi-nationals, such as GE Medical Systems, Timken, Corning, Lucent, United Technologies and others, in English and Mandarin. He has been invited to speak on numerous panels, including the American Bar Association, International Law Section national convention, and is an editor of the ABA, China Committee, Year in Review. Rich is a practicing attorney licensed in New York and Connecticut.

    CEO and Managing Director of The MBA Tour

    Peter von Loesecke is the Managing Director of The MBA Tour LLC, a company dedicated to helping graduate business programs recruit applicants from all over the world. The MBA Tour has over 150 international and US university clients and organizes recruiting over 50 recruiting events in 30 different countries. Mr. von Loesecke is an expert on global business education trends and how that drives the global demand for business education. The Yale School of Management is one of his clients.

    Prior to buying The MBA Tour, Mr von Loesecke worked 13 years as a management consultant for Temple Barker and Sloane (Now Mercer Management), Arthur D. Little, and Applied Value. He worked with an international client base in the medical, chemical and transportation industries. He is a graduate of Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and Cornell’s Johnson School of Management. He is a veteran of the United States Navy submarine service.

    Alice Young is a Partner and Chair of the Asia Pacific Practice at Kaye Scholer LLP International Law Firm. She advises multinationals and entrepreneurs on their business activities and investment considerations in the United States and throughout Asia, including complex cross-border transactions and sensitive legal and governmental strategies. She also assists clients in identifying potential Asian partners and resources. She represents clients in a wide range of disciplines, including joint ventures, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, finance, trade, foreign ownership issues, regulatory matters, trademark and copyright, employment, tax, private placements, real estate, manufacturing projects, licensing, high technology, telecommunications, retailing, commercial lending, restructurings, and general business negotiations. She has been lead advisor on projects in China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, India and the Philippines. She has been in private practice for over thirty years.
