I have worked as a CFO, growth equity investor, and general manager / P&L owner (and way back, a management consultant). My expertise is around growing and building business infrastructure at companies of various stages, primarily in the healthcare / medical technology space. I am currently the CFO of a laboratory robotics company (HighRes Biosolutions; ~170 employees; ~$50M revenue), where I focus on revenue growth, gross margin expansion and maximizing long term enterprise value. Previously, I headed Product at the same company, developing complex robotic systems, the accompanying control software, and building the supporting business processes. Prior to these operating roles, I was a private equity investor, and diligenced, negotiated and closed the acquisition of the company where I currently work (along with multiple other growth equity investments). I started my career as a management consultant at Oliver Wyman, in their Health / Life Sciences and Retail practices.

I am a product manager and have led teams to build products in fintech, insurance and productivity spaces. I am passionate about entrepreneurship, human centered tech, design, behavior change and reducing the mental health impact of social media. I am interested in almost all areas of tech, and love meeting passionate founders who are trying to change the world in their own meaningful way.

Jun Chen has experience in entrepreneurship, venture capital in consumer tech, enterprise tech and digital health. Prior to coming back to business school at Yale, she drove growth strategy at Thomson Reuters’ financial & risk division, where she applied customer-centric approach to drive sales. She also founded WeLynk, a networking app for young professionals to develop authentic professional relationships and mentorship. Most recently, she was an associate investor in healthcare at Connecticut Innovations, a $300M early stage fund in CT. She knows entrepreneurship is quite a journey. She enjoys seeing people being themselves, solving problems, and helping with go to market, customer archetyping, pricing, etc.

Matt has worked with emerging technology companies since 1996, including the last 16 years at Ascent. Matt was attracted to venture capital because it enables him to work closely with management teams over numerous years, developing strong relationships and building dynamic companies. He also loves seeing challenging problems solved by creative people leveraging new technology. At Ascent, Matt has focused on investments in data analytics (Interactive Supercomputing – acquired by Microsoft and Cymfony – acquired by TNS), business SaaS (StrikeIron – acquired by Informatica, Promoboxx and Connected2Fiber) and security (Fidelis – acquired by General Dynamics, PerspecSys – acquired by Blue Coat Systems and CPX Security).

Yuri is an expert at PR, Marketing, and Media Relations. He works with and advises tech, consumer, and creative companies on product launches, customer engagement, and media strategy. His efforts have resulted in 7 figure launches, 8 figures worth of free press for founders and products, and multiple awards for his clients and companies included Forbes 30 under 30. He's helped founders get featured in over 500 articles in the last two years including the Discovery Channel, Tech Crunch, Forbes, the Boston Globe, INC, Forbes, Time, Boston Magazine, Wired, and BuzzFeed.
